One piece be like.

Killing villens and bad guys ❌

Killing good people and allies ✅

Maigo Marimo • 2 years ago

oda is just portraying what real world is like...all good people suffer and die torturous death and the bad guys prosper with wealth and live long life ...life sure is unfair...

CosmicBlu • 1 year ago

no way, this is Anime, we can come here to ESCAPE reality (elephants with people in their mouths and flying raccoon dogs anyone?) The fact that they are always killing the good guys but the bad guys never seem to die, tells a lot more than you realize if you are awake

Piz • 1 year ago

You came here to escape reality not we. Maybe Oda wanted to portray reality artistically through anime but who are we to ask. Just enjoy the ride.

CosmicBlu • 1 year ago

the fact that you are watching a cartoon about made up people with super powers means YOU ALSO ABSOULTELY 100% came here to escape reality LMAO. Enjoy your ride down the river of denial

trainerpaz • 1 year ago

There's a difference between escaping reality and exploring our own reality by watching/reading stuff. Each to their own I guess. If a person dislikes life so much that they have a need to escape it then by all means treat it as an escape but don't generalise it as if everybody wants to.. You have expectations of reality and because of those expectations not being met you decide to "escape" from it but then you're bringing in your expectations into someone elses work of art then get mad when it doesn't go your way? Don't get it twisted though, I'm "escaping" reality by watching this and reading that but I'm not crying about why so and so happens. Like the other guy said, Just be still and enjoy the journey whether it is good or bad.

Gorvecel • 3 weeks ago

Anime isn't "escaping reality" anime is simply literally and adaptation of a manga.
A manga, on the other hand, will always continue to be and will be a story based on what the author will say, and authors portray whatever the fuck they want through their art, if you want to delude yourself into thinking anime can't be about real world problems and how to grow as a person, if the author wants you to learn about this kind of stuff and teach you about facing it, then he'll try his best to convince you to do it and if you don't like it then you can flip the fuck off.
I don't care about what sort of delusional lifestyle you go through in general, but if you can't see that the yasuie's death was one in which he died satisfied doing what he wanted before his life going away, then you're completely missing the point.
This episode was trying to teach you about sacrifice and how admirable it is for someone to sacrifice himself in the face of pure evil even if that would kill him and end up taking him away, what he wanted to do in the moment, was rebel and fight against something that wasn't supposed to reign over the freedom of completely innocent people.
One piece has always been like this, killing characters in one piece has never been something new either, ace died protecting what he loved most, kuma sacrificed himself for the inevitable salvation of the world, if anything pirates kill marines MOST of the time, the paramount war ALREADY thaught you what kind of STORY this is, this is more akin to a seinen than it is shounen, it's described as shounen because that's what it looked like on the surface, we're talking about our crewmates and characters being over 23 years OLD, it WOULD BE ODD for them to literally have no deaths included, you're watching the wrong show if you think it's all about "killing the villans" IT'S NOT ABOUT KILLING THEM, this show isn't about you getting the validation that you want in killing SCUM, if that's what you get and understand from the main characters of various shows, then you're WRONG and you should step away from them and start looking more carefully.
Never does luffy say "I am gonna kill someone", luffy always has and will always say "I will defeat ..." "I will beat that guy down..." he never itterates that he WANTS to kill and sully his hands in general, be that as it may, the story itself wants to emphasize just how HARD the path that they take is in general, the people that they go against kill, make people slaves and ultimately use their power to make people bow down, our main characters on the other hand always and ALWAYS use their powers to save and potentially stop crime without having to necesarlly resort to it.
Not to mention that even if that is the case now, ussop is a liar, zoro is a former killer, brook's crew DIED, sanji was fucking literally held in a cell as a child, LUFFY GREW IN A FOREST WITH GIANT INSECTS AND MONSTERS EVERYDAY, franky literally tried to stop a train with his barehands, THE WHOLE ISLAND that robin lived on GOT fucking murdered by the world government, nami's a burglar that was stealing to SAVE her own island, chopper's FATHER FIGURE literally died in front of him, where do I even begin with? have you been watching the show? have you not realized that this was all here? this is LITERALLY the same thing, they COULDN'T help because yasuie was trying to SAVE THEM, they GOT SAVED, again, in hopes that they will carry the future, and all you can dare to say is that "THIS IS ANIME, THEY SHOULD'VE SAVED HIM, I AM HERE TO ESCAPE FROM REALITY" when THE CHARACTERS, the author, EVERYONE in the show IS SCREAMING AT YOU WITH THEIR ACTIONS, to STRUGGLE AGAINST HUMANITY?

Kintama • 2 years ago

According to Mr. Oda killing bad ppl is a quick way for them to die instead letting them survive and regret their actions for the rest of their lives is a greater punishment.
But some crimes deserve death so I want him to kill some villains like this mf shogun😤

Joseph Joestar • 2 years ago

thats bullshit when you have bums like wapol who still got back up and continues to be a complete douche and spandam who still has his job and can terrorize people at any moment

Kintama • 2 years ago

Who said I agree with him.. Some crimes and criminal cannot be forgiven and deserve death

Spot on

CosmicBlu • 1 year ago

This is so true!! And it has nothing to do with 'portraying what the real world' is like because this is ANIME for heavens sakes! We watch it to ESCAPE reality, don't we?
The fact that they are always killing the good guys but not the bad guys is also a telling sign of the dynamics of which 'group' the people who write this show belong too. For those of you that caught that, good for you!

Hungry Underdog • 2 months ago

I still wanna know how the heck Enel is still alive

Deadman walking • 1 year ago

Did you watch one piece with your fucking eyes plucked? There has been tons of bad guys who have died in one piece. Yes its true, I agree more good people certainly die more than bad people, but to say no bad person has been killed is an understatement

Kyogy • 2 years ago

That's what I said last episode. ALSO they ran across the country and got there before Nami and the others. ridiculous

uselessdude420 • 1 year ago

Well they started running as soon as they got news that he got caught. Nami and the others came only after he was already on the pole

Ya Ya • 2 years ago

Yasuie was a legend ✊
He protected their plan by sacrificing himself

Chronos • 2 years ago

.....and abandoned his very young daughter.

pb123 • 2 years ago

fair but he knew she was in good hands (the Straw Hats'). Yasuie's sacrifice, if the Straw Hats win, will ultimately make the Land of Wano a better place for his daughter. you're forgetting that in Ebisu town they're all literally starving and there are so many empty homes from people who just starved to death. If things didn't change the chances his daughter survives to adulthood are tenuous at best

Shizuka • 2 years ago

im pretty sure fathers abandoning their children is not uncommon but it sure is sad

Lord Stewie Griffin • 2 years ago

Are you American by any chance?

Chronos • 2 years ago

dunno what that has to do with this mate

And no I am like the furthest thing from being an American (English is my 3rd language in the 4 languages i speak and i learned the og British version)

Daycrist • 5 months ago

Because this is generally a very WESTERN viewpoint when talking about Historical things. The West LOVES to try and sanitize their history or talk about how something in a Historical setting is just so wrong when it was a commonplace thing during the timeframe.

Daycrist • 5 months ago

In Feudal Japan it was actually a common practice to sell their Children into work houses and trades amongst the poor and destitute. The mindset was that they couldn't afford to feed and take care of their children themselves but these well off houses and tradesmen could. How do you think Geisha and Oiran houses got new recruits? You think little girls were like 'Damn I'd love to grow up to be a prostitute...'?
